Meet Hillary

Hillary is a graduate of McGill University’s Bachelor of Social Work and Carleton University’s Master of Social Work program. She has spent much of her career working in community mental health, offering individual therapy and other support services in a variety of local settings, giving her a depth and wealth of experience. Hillary moved away from community work and has been providing therapy privately since 2020.

Hillary has more than 10 years of experience providing therapy to adults. Hillary works with clients to help clarify their values, navigate areas of conflict or tension in their lives, and learn ways to cope with uncomfortable emotions.

Hillary’s approach to therapy strikes a balance between compassionate and challenging. She recognizes your individuality and integrates elements from a mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness in her work.

Life can be unpredictable and can feel overwhelming at times. Along the way, we sometimes rely on familiar and comfortable patterns of thought and behaviour that work in some ways yet, ultimately, don't bring us closer to who we want to be. Hillary feels honoured to be invited into your world and take the responsibility to help make life more manageable, meaningful, and fulfilling. Hillary values your individuality and integrates elements from different evidence-based therapeutic approaches into her work with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based practices.
